The sculptor Shri Papat has designed the huge and calm looking idol of Shri Shantinath Bhagwan which, later, was established by Seth Ralhanaji during the reign of King Madan Verma in VNS 1706 (VS 1237).

This teerth place is situated among the Madanesagar and the beautiful hills near Ahaar village.

Speciality of Jain Teerth :

The place famous as Kote Parvat is present at a short distance of just 1 Km from the teerth temple. Kote Parvat is the place where Madnesh Kumar and Viskanval Kevali’s has attained Nirvaan. As per a myth, raanga (a metal) purchased by Shri Pana Shah turned into silver as it was touched with the stone used for developing this holy idol. Many magical incidets still occurs. Annual celebration is organised every year between Margshirsh Shukla 13 and Poornima.

Historical Details :

This teerth place was also known as Madanespur, Madanesagarpur, Vasuharikpur and Nandanpur in its olden days. Madan Kumar Kevali has attained Nirvaan during the period of Shri Mallinath Bhagwan, hence was later on called as Madanespur. It is also said that during the period of Shri Pana Shah this place was the main place for Paaranaa (Aahhar) of many munis, and hence it was called as Ahaar. Remainings of number of Jin temples could be seen lying all around/ on the nearby hills. According to the carvings on the idol, Shri Papat, the sculptor, has designed the huge and calm looking idol of Shri Shantinath Bhagwan which, later, was established by Seth Ralhanaji during the reign of King Madan Verma in VNS 1706 (VS 1237). Discriptions of 32 sub casts’ among Jainism and followers of the Bhattarak and Aryaka’s between VS 1200 to 1607 are available on the recovered sculptures.

Management Dharamshala :

A well maintained dharamshala is present near the teerth temple. Bhojanshala runs between 10.00 am to 5.30 pm.
