Jain Teerth :

Chittor itself has its historical values in Indian History. Teerth is situated in the same fort, which was once ruled by Maha Rana Pratap. Mahamantri Shri Karmachand Bachhavat, the sixteenth renovator of Shatrunjay teerh, was belonged to this place. Acharya Siddhsen Diwakar stayed here for his Sadhana in first century of Vikram Samvat. Minister of Maharan Mokal has builded many Jin temples in this area. The Bavan Jinalay of Bhagwan Rishabhdev, temples of Shri Parshwanath Bhagwan, Shri Shantinath Bhagwan & Shri Mahaveer Bhagwan is famous but the Jain Kirtistambh, 22 meter in height, is much polpular among all. This seven storyed stambh with 9 meter in its diameter, is self explanatory in itself about the history.

Speciality of Jain Teerth :

The fort of Cittour has very eminent place in Indian history. This is place of warriors. The rulers and their kind ministers have done many religious works. The artistic Keertistambh is still present indicating the glorious Jain history of those days. Karachandra Bachhavat was a residence of this place that has renovated Shatrunjay Mahateerthi in Samvat 1587. The palace of Bhama Shah, the Treasurer of Maha Rana Pratap, was built in the territory of the fort.

King Kumarpal has accepted Jainism in Samvat 1216. In later days Guhilvanshi king Samantsingh has conquered the fort by defeating Ajaypal, the cousin of King Kumarpal in VS 1231.
