Historical Details :

This teerth place is famous as Varanasi and Kashi in general. History of Bhelupur teerth begins with Yugadidev Shri Adinath Bhagwan. Syamvar (the function in which the bride chooses her bridegroom and marry him) of Sulochana, the daughter of Kashi Naresh (King) Akampan was organised here. Sulochana has chosen Jaykumar, the chief army head of Chakravarti Samrat Bharat as her husband by offering him the marriage garland (varmala). Ikshvaku Vanshi King Ashvasen ruled this city. His wife queen Vamadevi has seen a nightmare in the night of Chaitra Krishna Chaturthi, giving indications of Teerthankars birth. At the same night the soul of Marubhooti entered her kuktchhi (ovary) after completion of his last nine lives (bhav). After completion of pregnancy period she gave birth to a male child on Poush Krishna Dasami in Anuradha nakshatra. He has markings (lakshan) of snake on his body. Whole empire celebrated this occasion and the Devtas as well celebrating this as the Janm Kalyanak of Prabhu. He was named as Parshwakumar. He was married to Prabhavati, the daughter of king Prasenjeet. Prince Parshwa saw a tapasvi sitted in meditation performing panchagni tap. At the same moment he came to knowledge from his inner sense power that a snake pair are trying to save themselves being present in the woods used for that tapasvi's panchagni. Immediately, prince took out that wood and saved the snake pair by tearing it and prompted Navkar Mahamantra to them. But alas, they could not survive and died as they were heavily burnt. By the affect of having heard Navkar Mahamantra at the time of death, they became Dharnendra & Padmavati Dev after their death. Once he thought of accepting Deeksha. He completed varshidaan and took deeksha at Ashrampad garden along with three hundred other kings in Anuradha Nakshatra on Poush Krishna Gyaras. After roaming for a long period he came to the same garden and started his meditation in standing position (kayotsarg mudra) under a Ghataki tree. He attained Kevalgyan in Vishakha nakshatra on Chaitra Krishna Chaturthi. Indra along with other Devtas celebrated organising Sanvasaran on this occasion. King of Hastinapur was present in self among others came for the samvasaran. He took deeksha from Prabhu Parshwa and became first Ganadhar and became popular as Aryadutt. Parents and wife of Prabhu has also taken deeksha. Note: Digambar sect believes that the Chyavan (entering the soul in Kuktchhi) be taken place on Vaishakh Krishna Dvitiya and Birth on Poush Krishna Gyaras. They also believe that offer of marriage was made from Kannoj King Ravikeerti to marry Parshwakumar with her daughter Prabhavati but the marriage does not take place. Ravikeerti was maternal uncle of Parshwakumar.
