Jain Idol  :

The rossey coloured idol of Shri Adinath Bhagwan is present in padmasan mudra. The idol is 107 cms (about 3.5 feet) in height.

Speciality of Jain Teerth :

The rosy idols are unique as the idol made of this colourful stone are not seen anywhere else. Description is available about this teerth temple to be constructed by Shri Paithan Shah, the mantri in Mandavgarh court during 13th century. During 16th century, Paramdev Suriji has wrote "Shri AMhaveer Jin Shradhhakulak" during his Chaturmaas halt at this teerth place. All these incidents prove this city to be full of Jain people before centuries ago. Many ancient huge ponds and Bavadies are present here. The eyes and forehead tilak are linked with the inner portion of the bluish idol of Shri Parshwanath Bhagwan. This is the speciality of the temple present at Kukshi city near Palanpur. The said idol was re-established by Shrimad Acharya Shri Rajendra Surishwarji during VNS 2419 (VS 1950). Mela is organised on Kartik Poornima on which occasion many pilgrims and nearby villagers visits this temple.

The teerth place is situated in Talapur village which is present at a distance of 5 kms from Kukshi city.

Historical Details :

Olden names of this teerth place are Tarapur, Taranpur and Tungiyapattan etc. One of the idol present in the Shwetambar temple has carvings stating about its establishment by the hands of Acharya Jagchandra Surishwarji on Monday, the 5th day of Chaitra Shukla of VS 612 (VNS 1081) and the expences of which were bored by rich Shah Chandra. According to the opinions of some people related to this incidence, that a farmer has found 13 Jin idols in his farm during VS 1898 (VNS 2637). Which were then distributed among the followers of Shwetabar & Digambar Jain sects and then established in the respective temples. Another Shwetambar temple is present in the nearby Kukshi city. The moolnayak idol present in that temple has carvings stating establishment of the idol of Godi Parshwa Prabhu to be performed by Shashan Prabhavak Acharya Shri Bappabhatt Surisishwarji during VNS 1491 (VS 1022). Present idol was also emerged magically from a Bavadi of Talanpur during VNS 2397 (VS 1928). All these incidents proves the ancientness of this teerth place.
