It is said that the Palace of King Vikramaditya was situated here adjuscent to which was the Queens palace, which nowadays is famous as Ranikot.
Myths are famous about many niraculous incidents took place here. As per a saying, some people were trying to cook meat near the temple, but were resisted by rain of stones on them and in turn they ran away from there. Once, some of Jain shravak have tried to take away the idol to Ujjain but saw a snake sitting near the idol giving negative indications and hence they left the idea. |

The artistic remainings of pillars and the idolistic surroundings indicates the temple to be built around 10th century of VS. The metallic choubeese belonging to 12th century is still present in the temple. Temple was damaged during Muslim reign and was renovated in VS 1649. |
