Historical Details |

History related to the moolnayak idol, is said to be very ancient. Some says that it was built 7th century B.C. i.e. the 4th Aara. Inscriptions are available about presence of many Jain temples and their locality at this place 2nd century B.C. Parmar kings have built Jin temples here during the 10th Christ century. It is said that the muslin invader Mohammad Gazanavi has given orders to his soldiers not to harm this temple & idol as he felt some magical effect after coming to this place. He was on the move of conquerring India & destroying the temples and other Hindu religious places. He halted here for his treatment. Inspite he erected five Kangooras before the temple as his self memory.
According to another saying, this temple was built by a resident of Lolada (as per many he was a resident of Palanpur), Shri Sangram Soni, the treasurer of Mandavgarh belonging to Badiyar Estate during VS 1472. Acarya Shri Somsundar Surishwarji has performed the establishment part of the temple.
The temple is seems to be an ancient one and Shri Soni might have done renovation of it in his reign as the treasurer of Mandavgarh. |
