Historical Details :

It is believed that the elder son of Shri Adinath Bhagwan, Chakravrti Samrat Shri Bharat, established this teerth. Inspired by the preeching of Shri Adishwar Bhagwan. He started his Sangh Yatra after renovating Siddhachal from this place near the Brahmi River (famous as Saraswati). Shri Somyashkumar, son of Shri Bahubali was accompanying him. He saw number of Munis doing tapashya in the dense forest and asked them about their doings. In reply they explained him about the importance of the place being the destination of Samvasaran of future eighth Teerthankar Shri Chandraprabh Bhagwan. Somyashkumar reported this to Shri Bharat Chakravarti, who then built a city and established temple of Shri Chandraprabh Bhagwan. Shri Sagar Chakravarti, Chandrayasha, Chakradhar, King Dasarath, the Pandvas & King Hastisen etc has visited this place in their respective periods. This place was also famous as Devpattan, Patan, Somnath, Prabhash and Chandraprabhash etc. King Kumarpal has built many temples here. Five Anjanshalakas and establishment were performed under the supervision of Shri Vijaysensuriji, the follower of Jagatguru Vijay Heersurishwarji between Poush Shukla 6 to Magh Shukla 6 of VS 1666. Renovation work took place by the order of Shri Vijay Jinendrasurishwarji in VS 1876. Last renovation and establishment took place on Magh Shukla 6th of VS 2008 by Acharya Shri Chandra Sagarsuriji, the Pattavibhushan of Agamoddharak Acharya Shri Anand Sagarsuriji. This entire incident proves the ancientness and importance of this teerth.
