Jain Idol  :

The Moolnayak idol of Shri Mahaveer Bhagwan in Kayotsarg position (mudra) is 122 cms (4 feet) in height is made of blackish stone.

Jain God Desc :

This is an ancient terth kshetra having carvings belonging to 11th century on the moolnayak idol.

Jain Teerth :

As per Jain Shashtras this teerth is very ancient. It is situated on the plane of a hill point among the hills near Onkareshwar Teerth at present at the meeting place (Sangam sthal) of the Narmada & Kaveri Rivers.

Speciality of Jain Teerth :

The Sanat Kumar's, two Chakravarti's and Vatsaraj and other 10 Kaamdev's have attained moksha alongwith number of munis at this place. This has been described in the Nirvaan Kaand & Jain shashtras.

Geographical Details :

This teerth kshetra is situated on the plains of a hill among the hills present near the Onkareshwar teerth, at the meeting place (sangam sthal) of Narmada & Kaveri rivers.

Historical Details :

According to Jain Shashtras, this teerth kshetra is an ancient one. Carvings of 11th centuries can be seen of the moolnayak idol. Shri Somsen Swamiji established the idol of Shri Chandraprabh Bhagwan in this temple during VS 1545. Temple was renovated during VS 1951. The annual function is organised every year from Falgun Shukla Trayodashi to Poornima. On Poornima, the Mandal Vidhaan is completed and Kalash Abhishek takes place with flying past of airplanes.

Pilgrims could reach the teerth place by car or bus from Badvah station while they will have to cross the river with the help of boats covering about 3 kms distance after reaching Onkareshwar teerth (8 kms from Onkareshwar road station). Situated on Indore-Mau-Khandava rail route, Onkareshwar road station is 77 kms from Indore & 60 kms from Khnadava. Regular bus service is also available from both places for Onkareshwar teerth.

Onkareshwar & Manileshwar Teerth: Onkareshwar teerth is a Hindu teerth consisting the Unique Jyotirling of Bhagwan Shiv. Shiv, being the God of Gods, is very respectable among Hindus’, large number of pilgrims visits this teerth place every year. This temple is one among the twelve (Dwadash) Jyotirlings present in India. These temples are present at a distance of 9 ms from Onkareshwar Road station. Pilgrims takes a parikrama of 11 kms around this temple and feels purity in themselves. This 11 kms long parikrama area consists of number of small temple having idols of different Gods/ Goddesses. Taking bath in the river is very dangerous as number of Crocodiles is present in it, which could cause ones life. The mandir committee has its own Guest and Rest houses.
