Shri Stambhan Parshwanath Bhagwan, Bluish idol in Padmasan mudra (position) of about 23 cms.

Jain God Desc :

Shri Stambhan Parshwanath Bhagwan. Established in VS 1165 by Bai Beedda w/o Modh Vanshi Bela Shreshthi. Renovation occurred in VS 1360 by Shri Sangh.

Jain Teerth :

The temple is present in Kharvada mohalla of Khambhat city. Annual day is celebrated on every Falgun Shukla Tritiya.

Speciality of Jain Teerth :

Shri Abhaydevsuriji was cured by the effect of the holy water pored on this idol for bath. History of this place is ancient and honorable. Kalikal sarvagya Shri Hemchandracharya started his education after he took Deeksha here. Shri Udayan, the minister in the cabinet of King Kumarpal, who established Udayanvasahi temple, belonged to this place. Dandnayak of this city got written many dharmgranths (sacred books) on Talpatri in VS 1277. Jagatguru Shri Heervijaysuriji, Shri Somsundarsuriji, Shri Vijaysensuriji and many other Acharyas established number of temples and written may important dharmgranthas here. Soni Tejpal, Sanghvi Udaykaran, Shri Gandhikunwarji, Shreshthi Ramji and other rich shravaks also erected many temples here. Great donor Seth Vajia, Rajia, Shrirai and Parvat came forward by establishing many Daanshalas and Bhojanshalas during draughts period. Writer of many Raas granths, great poet Shri Rishabdasji wrote many of his books here. Annual day of this temple is celebrated on every Falgun Shukla Tritiya.

Historical Details :

This city was known as Trambavati Nagari in ancient period. History of the effective moolnayak idol present in the temple is very old. Many miracles took place here between the period of 20th Teerthankar and the last Teerthankar. After that the idol remain vanished for along. Navangi teekakar Shri Abhaydev Suriji composed Jaytihuan Strotra at the bank of Sedi River after getting indications from Devlok. Adhisthayak Dev pleased and this idol appeared at the same spot in the presence of number of his followers. One of a stone used for building this temple has carvings about its establishment by wife of Modh Vanshi Shreshthi Bai Beedda in VS 1165. Shri Sangh built a new temple and established this idol during VS 1360 in it. Many renovation works took place later on. Last renovation work was carried out in VS 1984 by Teerthoddharak Samrat Acharya Shri Nemisurishwarji.
