Jain Idol  :

The moolnayak idol of the temple made up of white stone of Shri Suparshwanath Bhagwan is in Padmasan position (mudra) and is 91,4 cms (3 feet) in height.

Speciality of Jain Teerth :

Many Jain warriors, Mantri's & Shravaks have passed here during 18th & 22nd centuries. Mantri Pethad Shah, Jhanjhad Shah, Punjraj, Munjraj, Upmantri - Mandan, Gopal, Khajanchi- Sangram Soni, Diwan- Jeevan & Meghraj, Shravak- Jawad Shah, Jetha Shah and other Jain followers have used their wealth in building number of temples at this holy place. Apart from establishing temples, they have also arranged many Yatra Sangh's and done any religious work to develop Jainism. Shri Sangram Soni has scripted 'Buddhi Sagar' granth and wrote 'Jain Agam' with gold due to which he was greeted by the then Mughal Emperor Muhammad Khilji in his court. Praised by the religious and humanitarian works of Shri Javad Shah, Emperor Gayasuddhin has greeted him by allotting him the upadhis’ of ‘Shrimal Bhupaal’ & ‘Laghu Shalibhadra’. It is said that about 700 Jin temples & Poushadhalayas’ (nurseries) were present in this big city consisting of about 6 lakhs Jain families in the olden days. Every newcomer Jain family was provided with a gold coin & a brick at the time of his settling in this city.

Historical Details :

According to the Veer Vanshavali, Shri Sangram Soni has established the temple of Shri Parshwanath Bhagwan at Makshi. At the same time he built the temple of Shri Suparshwanath Bhagwan in this holy city. On this basis it could be said that this teerth place came into existence since VNS 1941 (VS 1472). Later on many renovation works & establishments were carried.

Another ancient temple having moolnayak idol of Shri Shantinath Bhagwan is also present at this place. Mandavgarh is famous for its archeological assets. Remaining defining the ancientness of this place could be seen all around the temple.
