Jain Idol  :

The Moolnayak idol of the temple is of Shri Adinath Bhagwan. The brown coloured standing idol is 25.6 meter (84 feet) in height and in Kadgasan mudra.

This teerth temple is situated in the dense forest on Choolgiri, the highest peak of Satpuda hills.

Speciality of Jain Teerth :

Carved of a single stone, the Kayotsarg idol of Shri Adinath Bhagwan present at Choolgiri is unique not only in India but in the whole world. The calmness and proud of win over all physical requirements (Veetrag), emerging from the idol attracts evryone. The architecture design of the idol differs from any other of its kind. The affect showing Viraag, Karuna & Hasya emerges from the face of idol. It seems that the architect has deeply praised the almighty for his grace on humanity for the cause of attaining moksha from 84 Yonis. The legth measuring scale during the olden days was Gaj (apprx. one hand) and on that ground the idol was 52 Gaj heigh and hence was named Bavan Gajaji. As per the Shashtras, Kumbhakaran & Indrajeet, the younger brother & son respectively of Lankapati Ravan, has attained multi from this place alongwith many munis. Their foot-prints (Charan-padukas) present here are the point of attraction for the visiting pilgrims. Mastakabhishek takes place once in every twelve year, for which thousands of pilgrims visits this teerth place

Ancientness of the teerth place is proved from the carvings and inscriptions on the hills. No one among the architect, establisher of the idol or the designer has left any sign of themselves at this place. This indicates their greatness. According to the opinions about this teerth place, the idol & the teerth might have established 3000 years ago.

This teerth place is situated in the dense forest of Choolgiri, the highest peak of Satpuda hills. It is based on Badvani-Khandava-Baroda highway. The high starts from Badvani from where the basement (talahati) of the teerth place reamains about 8 kms. Distance between talahati & the teerth temple is 1.6 kms for which 800 steps have been structured. Bus service from Badvani to the talahati beguns in the early morning at 6.00 am available upto 7.30 pm. Taxis and Buses are available from both the nearest Railway stations I.e. mahu & Khandava and from Indore also which is 156 kms from the teeth place. This place is 29 kms away from Kukshi city & 72 kms from Aliraajpur.
