Bharuch is a famous city of Gujarat present on the bank of Narmada river. Shri Gautam Swami, the first Ganadhar of Bhagwan Veer has described this teerth in his Jagchintamani Strotra. Bhagwan Munisuvrat Swami has given knowledge (Pratibodh) about past and present birth to the Horse, which was prepared for the Ashvamegh Yagya. He became a Dev after his death and built this temple. Later on many renovation works were performed. The basement is turned into the first Bhaktamar temple in INDIA having displayed all around, Bhaktamar strotra being written on Sangamarmar stone. The idol of writer of Bhaktamar Strotra, Shri Acharya Mantung is established in the temple. Poojan timings are from 6.30 am to 5.00 pm. An ancient teerth. |

Ganadhar Gautam Swami has worshiped Bhagwan Munisuvrat Swami of Bharuch in his Jag Chintamani Strotra. Many Jain saints like Shashan Samrat Acharya Vajrabhooti, Baputtacharya, Kalakacharya, Mallavadisuri, Padliptasuri and Vijaysensuri etc. has visited this teerth and wrote many Dharmagranths & established many temples along with so many other religious as well as humanitarian works. |

Bhragukatchh, Bhragukul, Bhragpur & Bharuatchh etc are the ancient names of Bharuch. This was an important city of Lat nation. Bhagwan Munisuvrat swami has given pratibodh (spiritual knowledge) to the Horse prepared for Ashvamegh Yagyan, who became a Dev after the death. He constructed the temple of Munisuvrat Swami being his Upkarak Dev. The temple was called as Ashvabodh temple. Sudarshana, daughter of King Singhal of Singhal nation, renovated this temple after being given knowledge about her past life of Cheel (Eagle). Temple was then renamed as Shakunika Vihar. Days past and many Hindu & Jain temples were converted into Mosques. The said temple was among them. It is said the present Jama Masjid is the same temple. Guess is made about the idol to be kept somewhere and established in the present temple at this holy place. |
