This place was known as Vatapalli in its old days. The temple of Shri Parshwanath Bhagwan is made before 12th century. This is the place of origin for Vatapalli Gatchh. Nanroda village in Marwad contains an idol having markings of VS 1189 and Vatapalli Gatchh is described in it. As per the writings present on an Pabasan present in the dehari of main Bavan Jinalaya of this teerth, the temple was renovated and pratishtha took place by the honorary hands of Acharya Shri Somsundar Surishwarji on Vaishakh Shukla 4 of VS 1275. |

It is said that continuous flow of Ami (Amrit called by Hindus) use to emerge from the moolnayak idol and hence pilgrims and Jain followers started calling it as the idol of Shri Amijhara Parshwanath Bhagwan. The religious works done by the people of Vatapalli Gatchh has much respectable place in Jain history. The moolnayak idol is very powerful. |
