The grand sons of King Yadu, Souri & Veer established two cities viz. Souripur & Soveer on there own name. Souri has two sons Andhak and Vrishni. Their patarani gave birth to ten sons known as Samudravijay, Vasudev etc. and two girls namely Kunti & Madri. Veer has a son known as Bhojakvrishni. He has 6 sons viz. Bandhu, Subandhu, Kans, etc and two daughter namely Devaki & Rajulmati. Samudravijay ruled Souripur while Ugrasen was ruling Mathura. The brother of Samudravijay, Vasudev has two sons namely Shrikishna & Balaram. The patrani of Samudravijayji, Shivadevi saw a nightmare on the 12th day of Krishna paksha of Kartik in the last phase of night giving signal of birth of Teerthankar. At the same time, the soul of Shankh, entered in the ovary of Shivadevi, after completing the eighth bahv. Devraj Indra and other devta have celebrated this occasion as the Chyavan kalyanak day. After completing a cycle of 9 months and eight days, Shivadevi gave birth to a Shyam varniya Shankh lakshan son on the Shravan shukla panchami. During the pregnancy period Shivadevi has seen Arishtaratnamayi Chakradhara, and hence the boy was called as " Arishta Nemi". A huge celebration was organised on his birth in the kingdom as well as by the 56 Dikkumari's & Indra- Indrayani. " Arishta Nemi" was the 22nd Teerthankar of current Chouvisi, who later on known as Neminath Bhagwan. Being the birthplace of Bhagwan Neminath, Souripur became a holy teerth. In the ancient time this place was very large in shape. This was also known as Sotiyapur and Suryapur. It is said that Bhagwan Mahaveer arrived here at the time when King Souryadutt ruled it.
